Frequently Asked Questions

Do you invest in companies outside the United States?

Yes. We are geographically agnostic and have portfolio companies across North America, Europe, Israel, Singapore, and Australia. We require companies to be incorporated or willing to incorporate in Delaware as a condition of our standard term sheet.

What is your standard check size?

Our standard seed investment is $5M. We occasionally participate in pre-seed rounds at $500K to $1.5M for exceptional teams in our focus sectors. We do not currently make growth-stage or growth-stage investments.

Do you require a warm introduction?

No. We review all inbound pitches and respond to every submission within 72 hours. While a warm introduction is always helpful, it is never required. We have made many of our best investments from cold inbound email.

Do you lead rounds or follow?

We lead the majority of our investments and are comfortable setting terms, negotiating valuation, and anchoring a round. We also occasionally participate as a strong-value-add co-investor when we can add meaningful operational support to a round led by a partner we trust.

How long does your diligence process take?

Our typical timeline from first meeting to term sheet is three to six weeks. We do not run indefinite multi-month processes. We will always tell you exactly where we are in our review and what questions remain before we can make a decision.

Do you take board seats?

We typically take a board seat or board observer role as a condition of our seed investment. We believe active board participation makes us better investors and better partners for founders. We attend every board meeting and come prepared.
